Help, urgent about neuro program contract

I was offered an neuro position via post match. The program said they will give an offer letter in several weeks, but the contract will be signed in 2007. I am worried about if it is secured enough, shall I look for other programs at the same time? Or it is normal? Thanks a lot.

Did you ask them specifically why you would have to wait until 2007 to sign?

Did they mean that you would be signing for a start date of 2007?

I can't think of any justification for making you wait an entire year to sign a contract. That wouldn't be smart for them either. Double check to be sure you didn't misunderstand!!

The program starts in 2007 (without PGY-1 position). They said they will send the contract in April 2007. I havn't asked about if it is the same to every resident, bcz I just got the offer orally, I don't want to give them to much pressure.

i matched via regular match and my program told me my contract will be ready to sign in Jan. 2007

Did u get a pgy-1 position? If we can not find the pgy-1, the neuro program won't sign the contract. right?
