Hi-
This is my first post here but I've been following these threads for a while. They have been very helpful!
My situation:
I am a senior economics major at the university of washington who recently (within the last year) decided to go premed. I'm going into my fifth year in order to finish the premed prereq's and with a gpa of 3.2 and a few gaps in my transcript (a few quarters dropped, and I took an entire year off from school) I know I'm going to have to take a post-bac program. We're on the quarter system at the UW and I've looked into applying to several SMP type programs including BU, Georgetown, NYMC, and U.Cincinnati. I won't be done with the last quarter of ochem or biology until the end of spring quarter (early june) but some of the programs require an MCAT score with an admissions deadline in May or so. I guess my question is, will I even be able to sit for the MCAT without having taken a third of the ochem and biology series? I highly doubt it because from reading other posts, it takes a tremendous amount of time studying for the MCAT let alone learning new material while still taking classes. Also, what are my chances of even getting into postbac like BU or Georgetown? How should I time everything out? Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks! 🙂
