Hey guys, I just posted a longer version of this thread but let me summarize it.
I am taking Ochem 2 w/ Lab and a 1 cr. DIS (independent research) course (S/U grading). I was almost fooled into signing up for this DIS and now it is making my life absolutely miserable and I feel that it is jeopardizing my performance in Ochem w/ lab.
In short, I am not going to do well in Ochem if I keep this DIS but I will get a W on my transcript if I drop it. Alternatively if I completely ignore everything I am required to do I will end up with a U grade but idea of just stopping showing up for it makes me uncomfortable.
I know there were many old threads on this but it seems that medical schools get more and more competitive applicants with each new year so they may be more picky about W grades now that they were in 2007.
How bad is it to get a W these days? And is a U grade better than a W?
