It sounds like you are talking about a "summary of qualifications", which basically consists of two to three sentences used to emphasize the best skills you have that are relevant to the position you are applying to (in this case, dental student). It's usually the first item on a resume, and it's supposed to leave a "good first impression" of some sort.
u are right, kilani! Thanks for your reply. I googled it and got the answer which says statement of qualifications and summary of qualifications are used in the same way but one is for the applicant and the other is used by a company in its advertisement.
