Help with Pathology Review (robbins, goljan)

Hello,
I have the 7th edition of Robbins Path Text-- do you think I can use the 1st edition of Robbins Review of Pathology instead of the newest (2nd) edition of Robbins review of pathology to go along w/ the 7th edition of robbins text.

For studying Pathology, can i use robbins or should I get a Goljan book? If so, which Goljan book. Thanks.

You can definitely use the 1st edition of Robbin's Review, especially if you already have it. Of course, the page references no longer correspond with the new text but if you're in the right chapter it's not hard to find your way.
I don't know about using the Goljan text, I've heard good things about all of his work though. Our course follows Big Robbins pretty closely so it's just easier to use it. I also use BRS path once I am already familiar with the material and this has worked out well for me.
You should definitely look at other books to see what fits your style of learning. Also ask upper classmen what books they used to get a feel for what works best for your course. Good luck!

i dont know if u want to do this but I sold my 1st ed Robbins Review on amazon for 35, and bought the new one for 43. Books sell pretty fast on amazon, even the older editions.

also i used some path review books instead of the Robbins text. it has worked for me so far but everyone is different. The goljan Rapid Review is pretty good. The questions (100q) in the back were pretty good too. Hopefully they will help me for the path shelf (this wed).

I own the 1st edition, and sometimes I check out the 2nd edition from our school library. There are slight differences between the two, but the majority of questions are identical.

The only major exception is that the 2nd edition offers more answer choices for some questions, and perhaps a few more photos per chapter. Lastly, the 2nd edition includes a final review exam at the back, which includes questions from all the chapters.
