Hey guys,
I'm a reapplicant (23 years old), last cycle I had 4 interviews (Tufts, Carver, Drexel, and Geisinger) and 3 waitlists. I have a 3.3 cgpa, where I got a 3.73 the last 2 years with a bio and chem double major with a minor in psych. I received a 508 on the MCAT. I'm a URM, puerto rican male, CT resident.
-Mechanic since I was 15, worked during school, and modeled my personal essay on aspects of how a mechanic is similar to being a doctor and the skills I have learned from all my experiences.
-research in epigenetic lab for 2 years, did 4 poster presentations and won best poster for molecular bio/genetics at a conference.
research in analytical lab for 2 years, did 2 poster presentations and should result in publication
-shadowed various doctors around 300 hours
-volunteered at various hospitals around 300-400 hours
-tutor for two years in bio and organic chemistry
-won two tutoring service awards, and excellence in scientific research award from the school
I need a good MD school list, I have preliminary list but would like input. I am going to reapply to the schools I received interviews at, last cycle I applied late as I was waiting on my MCAT to come in. Secondaries were in by October 13. I am submitting on first day. Any help is greatly appreciated.
