Hi Everyone,

I am applying this cycle for dental school. I am a Texas resident, and will be applying to in-state schools as well as out of states. Can anyone help me base on credentials?

Overall GPA: 3.59
Science GPA 3.6
DAT: AA 20/ TS 21/ PAT 17

- Several extracurricular activities as well as leadership roles
- Graduating Fall 2014 (One semester later)

All Texas schools
Midwestern
NOVA
OKC
UConn

I am also looking for schools where the tuition is not as expensive, this can include gaining residency after your first year.

Thank you!

Look at Creighton, they are pretty reasonable and a good school. Biasedly, I may suggest University of Iowa. They run middle of the road for OOS tuition and I'm not sure about getting residency. But they are getting a brand new multimillion dollar clinic and are the only school with every specialty.

Obviously, go to the cheapest school you get in to!

Creighton wants a higher PAT.
I applied there and it was the only school I wasn't interviewed or accepted. Shrug.

GL OP, you'll most likely get in instate...your stats are like...perfectly average haha.

add rutgers, VCU,

Pretty sure you'll get into at least one TX school.

Buffalo, rutgers, michigan.

Thanks! I will add this to my list of schools!

That's what I am hoping! I'll definitely apply to VCU.

Would Creighton look down upon my PAT score? As For Iowa, are you a D1 there? How do you like in terms of clinicals?

I'm an incoming D1, so I can't comment, yet. What I do know, however, is that you start in the clinics your D1 year, which is earlier than a lot of schools. I've heard great things from students and practicing dentists on their clinical strength.

for this part, UNLV will fit the bill. they're kinda pricey for that one OOS year though if i remember

Thanks! I looked into Las Vegas, but is it true that the living expense is cheap at Vegas? I read this somewhere, and I find this kinda odd. lol.

Also, the tuition is still about $350,000 with living expenses I am guessing!
