Hi! I was hoping for some advice with my school list.
GPA: 3.89 cumulative, 3.85 science
MCAT: 515
Residence: Northwest IN
Undergrad: Indiana University
Race/Gender: White Female
Clinical Experience: 300 hours at a free health clinic for medically underserved individuals without insurance, 350 with Global Medical Brigades with trips to rural Nicaragua and Panama
Non-Clinical Experience: 400 hours as a special education peer-tutor/mentor, 100 hours volunteering at a therapy horse place with individuals with disabilities
Research: 700 hours over 2 years in a cognitive science lab working on how people make decisions regarding the kind of dog they adopt from the local animal shelter, designed and ran my own experiment and presented a poster at a conference
Leadership: Vice President as a senior and Director of Community Involvement as a Junior with Global Medical Brigades, elected to be a member of my honors college pre-health council, which involved planning events to benefit other pre-health students at my school
Shadowing: 200 hours (internal medicine, ENT, anesthesiology and surgery, and emergency medicine)
Honors/Awards: honors college, deans list all 8 semesters, Phi Beta Kappa
Gap Year: Currently working at Rush University Alzheimer's Disease Center as a research assistant, also hoping to pick up some volunteering in COVID allows for it
LOR: 7 letters (4 from science profs, 1 from volunteer coordinator, 1 from PI and PhD student I worked with, 1 from honors prof)
Other: Upward trend in GPA over the last 3 semesters
