Already applied this cycle year knowing my university GPA was barely competitive, but was unpleasantly surprised with the averaging of my GPA's through AADSAS. My CC past has finally caught up to me, unfortunately. I have one year left in my undergrad with a potential 54 hours of A's, but right now I need to start considering an SMP program, just in case.
Since I wasn't expecting this route I have no idea how to go about it. How much do they usually cost? How would you handle the living situation without family and friends in the new area and not working?.. Loans?.. Scholarships? I'm lost.
I know there is one at BU and Tufts which, BU is my top school choice. I have researched some about Barry's in Florida, and one in Arizona. But are there any I am missing? How do I go about applying? And how can I increase my chances of acceptance?
I also have no desire to do 2 years in a lab with a traditional Masters program. I respect research and believe it to be essential in each field of work, it's just not for me.
