Help with tracking clinical supervision hours

Hi guys!

So, I am a first year, and I will need to start tracking all of my clinical hours soon. I am going to start seeing clients for assessments and assisting in leading skills groups. What are some good ways to track my hours? Are there websites or computer software which are helpful to use? Also, what sort of information do I need to keep (date, time, supervisor, activities, etc etc)? Thanks in advance for the help!

Is that the gold standard for keeping hours, or are there other options? Just asking out of curiosity.

I just used an excel worksheet. It allows for more flexibility and you save a few bucks.

That's what I did as well.

I would consider it the "gold standard" and highly recommend it as someone who used it throughout my training. It makes internship apps MUCH easier due to its app friendly design.

Off the top of my head:

• Number and type of hours (e.g., assessment, treatment/intervention)
• Number and type of patients (e.g., age group, ethnicity) assessed and treated
• Name and number of assessment instruments administered
• Hours of individual and group supervision received
• Hours spent writing reports and notes
• Hours spent training/supervising other students

Those are the biggest ones I can think of at the moment.

i used excel. i kept a separate spreadsheet for each site. on one page, i tracked hours by week, so, 3 hours of individual therapy with adults, 1 hour of assessment, 1 hour of supervision, etc. on a second sheet, i logged each hour and the demographics. i'm applying to internship right now, and it took me maybe an hour to get all of those numbers transcribed and into appic - it wasn't that bad. i suggest going to the appic website and looking at the application to see how they ask for the info, which will give you a good idea of how to track it.

This is the one my program gave me!

We received a memo in May about mypsychtrack, essentially stating that students in APPIC DPAs (Doctoral Program Associates) get free access to mypsychtrack. As stated by others, the data can be uploaded directly into the APPI, and because it is the APPIC-sanctioned service, you can pretty much guarantee that it will be up to date.
