I think you mention a very good point. We really should not judge another person. Instead, we should be more accepting of one another, and I absolutely agree. Yes you may expect, I'm going to defend my case here. I made my case by saying that he should stop smoking, and I repeated it couple times. This is in no way a judgment on that guys personality, character or intelligence. I merely stating what is right. As much as we accept everything that exist in this world, at some point, we need to put our foot down and make a stance. And, yes, the person should stop smoking. If you are smoking, you should stop smoking. This is in no way saying anything negative about you as a person, but it does necessrily imply that smoking is bad for your health. And repeating myself again. You should stop smoking because smoking is bad for your health. Period.
As a pre-dental student, a profession where we are suppose to care for another's health. I advocate quitting smoking. Period.
With just as much force, I advocate toothbrushing and flossing. You should floss. You should brush your teeth everyday. If you take this as a judgment. I will follow up by asking... why do you feel like I'm judging you?
