If someone could please help me on this I'd appreciate it. I applied very early to internal medicine residencies and have several interviews scheduled, one at my home institution which would be my first choice and which basically has an open door policy for in-state students (it's not competitive). Two weeks ago I decided to also apply to a specialty which requires a prelim year, and I just blanked out on the fact that I had to apply for the prelim year too. It is now getting late, and those spots are more competitive. If I do end up getting this other residency, I would prefer to stay at my home school for an IM prelim year but my interview is for a categorical spot, as are all my other interviews at places I would like to go for this. What do I need to do at this point? Thanks in advance to whomever can help.
