ok, so i'm doing a prelim year in surgery right now and i'm entering the match for EM this year - didn't get any interviews for where i want to be (philly) and am planning on electively scrambling - i understand it's fairly difficult to scramble into EM (very few positions), let alone specifically philly.
i know positions/vacancies will be listed on SAEM, but what else can i do to potentially secure a spot for EM this year ? i will do research if i have to, but really hate to break my residency.
alternatively, does anyone have an advice to offer about finding a research position in EM in philly ?
i'm kind of in the dark here....
