hi everyone! i'm really worried about getting into medical school. does anyone have any advice out there? i have a 3.92 gpa (4.0 sciences) and a 39S (13-15V, 14P, 12B) on the MCAT. i'm a little worried about my EC's tho. i've only published two papers and am primary author on only one. in addition, the free clinic that i opened recently is not as successful as i had hoped it would be. so i guess what i'm saying is, should i even apply to med school? i here del caribe is pretty easy and ponce too, but i just don't know if i can cut it there. appreciate your help!

Snif snif. Something really smells in here.

i'm quite offended. i came to this forum seeking the guidance of those who supposedly are entering a field requiring compassion. if you do not wish to give me useful advice. please leave your negativity at the doorstep.

I'd look into Post-Bac programs if I were you.
Do a little search, there's plenty of threads with that topic. Also, you're gonna need to improve the 12. August retake.

Man, I think I'm out of my mind. I think I put my contacts in inside out, or maybe we're using some sort of foreign numerical system where the numbers no longer have the value I've been taught since preschool.  Someone show me the light at the end of the tunnel.

P.S. Did you have to post this useless **** in pre-allo, allo, and pre-osteo? Geeez!

With a name like "slydawgg" and not-so-subtle sarcasm imbedded in his/her comments, I think someone is crying wolf, no pun intended.

I'd try DO schools, but I can't guarantee anything.
:p

-Forget about it - not even the Carribean Schools with take you with those credentials. Try doing a post-bac and opening up another free clinic. :D

I don't think this post is funny at all. There are people here with real problems getting into medical schools. This is process is already bewildering and difficult. There is no room for your immature and inconsiderate sense of humor.

I'm pretty sure it's against SDN policy to post the same message in more than one forum. Especially when it's worthless s**t like this.

I will say the same thing that I said in your osteo-post. You are an dingus. Grow up. Your cruelty has no business in this forum.

It was a light hearted jest meant to lighten the mood amongst a large group of obsessive compulsive type a personalities. When you begin to take yourself too seriously life begins to get pretty dull.

To the original poster:

You are really screwed. Have you looked into DO schools? or maybe Ross and SGU? How about Podiatry or Optometry schools? (no offense to those schools) :D

I think what you really need to worry about is your writing score. We all know that is the score most scrutinized by the adcoms. Is English your first language? You might need to compensate by writing a kick-*ss Personal Statement. There are a couple of people here that are helping posters with their Statements, but I suggest focusing on the free clinic you opened and why you think its failing and what you've learned from the experience. But again, retaking the MCAT could only help your situation. Practice writing those essays all summer long so you can get a Z on the writing section.

For those of us who have been coming to SDN for more than say, 5 months, this joke is just really old. So many people have made this joke. It might have been funny the first time, but now it's time has passed. Try something more creative next time :)

YADA YADA YADA... Honestly it was funny once it was cute the second time now Ya jus played yourself! This is sssoooooo tried!

LOL AHHAA so this is the dude that posted the "i'm too sexy topic"

he one funny guy

That was some funny *hit. I agree with some of the others though.......that 12 really railed your chances. You really should think about retaking the MCAT entirely. :D
