hey,

On the AMCAS, under Experiences, i put down that i was published; however, how can i put down like the journal information? This is what i have (besides my duties):

This article was published in Resuscitation, 2002, vol. 54, pg. 89.

Is this an OK format? And should i have the title of the article underlined or Italics?

thanks!

For my publications I simply listed the title of the journal in the header and then the entire citation in the space alotted for description including names, paper title, journal, volume, number, year etc.. You should have ample space to list at least two publications and/or presentations.

Hope this helps - this is what I did last year on AMCAS:

{} = what I entered

Experience Name/Title: {Journal Article - Please See Description}
Experience Type: {Publications}
Date: {Publication Date}
Organization Name: {Department }
Contact Name: {Corresponding Author}
Contact Title: {Corresponding Author Title}
etc.

Experience Description: {citation in JAMA format} + {short description of paper and my role in paper development}

Doing it that way allowed me to briefly tell the adcoms what role I played in the development of the paper.

I also did similar things for paper presentations at national meetings. I don't think the citation format matters so much - I used JAMA just because it's the one I use most frequently. You won't be able to format it with italics or bold. (At least, I wasn't able to.)

Good luck.

FWIW,
