Eraserhead

So, I just got an email from UCSD saying that my non-science professor who was also a research mentor did not comment on my classroom performance even though he graded me for a total of 12 units.... Do you think I need/ should contact him and request that he rewrite the letter? Or call all of the schools I'm applying to and ask if it matters?

This is really frustrating... 😡

They said they would process the application anyway, but what about all the other schools I'm applying to?

I didn't appy to that school, but my advice is to explain what the school requested from you and ask him to rewrite the letter and send it only to that school.

If no other school comments on it, I wouldn't worry about. I'm sure you have other recommendations from science professors that can comment on your classroom work.

I'm sorry, that's really stupid that they are making you do that🙁

Actually, they aren't making me do it, they said its fine. But when I first opened the email saying "Dr. X did not comment on your classroom performance" even though the other two (science) professors did, I couldn't help but think that this might bother at least one other Ad Comm.... but if they don't say anything should I assume its cool?

Most schools don't explicitly say "non-science faculty that graded you in coursework..." but if they do I should probably call them up right?

Oh, I didn't notice you said non-science. Even if that was your only non-science recommendation and they didn't comment on your classroom performance, I wouldn't suggest pointing it out to other schools, unless of course they specifically ask for "a non-science professor who graded you in coursework". As long as you think it's a good recommendation, I personally wouldn't bring it up to other schools. Just look back through the requirements and then try not to worry about it.🙂
