hi guys i am new here.

i am planning on taking my step1 in may.
i started with kaplan notes then videos.
i have done Uworld twice and FA almost three times cover to cover. these are the two things i am focusing on right now.

i gave nbme 7 few days back and got 222. i am a little disappointed.i am aiming for >235...i dunno what to do now 🙁
i am revising first aid and uworld again but i lost confidence in myself. please advice what i should do??

what kinds of questions are you getting wrong?
simple recall mistakes?
questions on material not in FA?
conceptual/understanding questions (i.e. physio, etc)?

i am having simple recall mistakes, and i try to do the block too fast and make stupid mistakes.
in the last nbme i had a low margin in behavioral science, rest all were high.
the problem is i am not confident over the things i know and i am just getting depressed about my score.

You're really not doing as horrible as you think you are. You're very close to the US average, and you've got at least a few weeks or so left to improve, and you will. Just keep pushing yourself. The last few weeks can make a noticeable difference.

If you are doing the block as fast as you say you are, you should have time left over to check marked questions which you are unsure about. Use that to your advantage. Mark questions you are unsure of, even if you have 5-10 per block - so you have something to do at the end with your leftover time.

I believe recall mistakes can be minimized by focusing on FA, but with active learning, such as writing things out, or maybe creating flashcards of facts you feel you confuse. Also, if you are interested doing the Rx question bank (which further reinforces FA) will certainly help with that.

I had recall mistakes on the real deal, only because I did not actively do FA until the latter part of my prep.

there's pretty much only one remedy.. crush first aid.

i got the same score 222 but i am aiming for >235 🙁 and i have 20 more days .. how can i improve??

For those of us that are <230 (which I most likely still am), I think the general consensus is that we don't know FA as well as we think/should.

yeah thanks guys 🙂
did some really silly mistakes, could have done a little better.
i am gonna just revise FA and uworld now.
