Anyone want to make crazy high scores on the DAT? Well here are my steps for absolute success on this awesome test.

Step 1 - Ask mommy and daddy to borrow their credit cards so that you can buy as many ridiculously expensive study guides as you can. I'm talking everything people. You need Cliffnotes, Kaplan, Dat destroyer, Dat crusher, Dat killer, Dat stomper, Dat master, master the dat, Dat done right, DAT test is going down, DAT's the easiest thing ever, DAT aint nothing, and DAT: the test that babies and people from oklahoma fail.

Step 2 - Now that you have all this stuff your ready to set up a grueling study regime. Proceed to lock yourself in your room for 13 hours a day counting tiny cubes and trying to figure out all you possibly can about the exciting world of solubility and meiosis.

Step 3 - After two weeks of this, realization should sink in. You are a douchebag. You didnt need all the expensive hype. You knew about chromosomes and organic synthesis when you took your basics.

Step 4 - Find dumb kid at your school who you can unload all your junk on for a nice price.

Step 5 - With this money proceed to local bar. There purchase several drinks and work on those social skills. Trust me alot of you kids could use some of those.

Step 6 - Realize that there is more to life and to being a dentist than some ridiculous test which tests your knowledge of angle ranking and basic chemistry. At the end of the day that stuff doesnt matter quite as much as the person that you are inside. So work on that instead. Do something nice for someone tomorrow. Say a kind word, give the homeless guy on the street some money, do a favor for a friend, bring your mom/grandma/gf some flowers. Girls, bring your dad/grandpa/bf some food. You know, something kind and unexpected.

Step 7 - Finally, know this fact. Some of you guys might study and make a 23. You might also not study and make a 19. Regardless of which one you choose to do, you're not getting in anywhere unless you are a GOOD person with a GOOD heart. So tomorrow instead of reading some obscure science facts, ask yourself just what are you doing for others? Ask yourself just what kind of man/woman you really are, and how your life is helping those around you?

Right on, man! This is hands down one of the best posts out there...It reminds me of that "Always Wear Sunscreen" from like '97 (You all know what I'm talking about...don't pretend like you don't 😀). You are SO right...a huge part of being a dentist involves a passion for helping others and it does seem so fickle that "giving of oneself" goes out the door when actually pursuing that dream. I, myself, am even guilty of this...While studying for the DAT I haven't gone out with friends in 3 weeks and even told my poor parents they can't come see me this weekend before my exam since it'll throw off my groove. I feel so horrible. What an eye-opener.

What makes this post even more perfect? The fact you said "You need...Dat crusher..." and a small part of me went "omg why haven't I heard of these things until now and why haven't I gotten them?" How RIDICULOUS. Thanks for the motivation! I think I'll go to CVS and pick up greeting cards for my parents and grandma now...

awwww.....
But I think i'll do BOTH!!
It takes a "good" and "helpful" person to be a dentist (like u said) but it takes "good" grades to get into dental skool😀
Ok...bak to studying now

Just wanted to say I got my first interview yesterday. It was Midwestern. My dat was not great AA18 TS 19. So I think your right on the money. A lot of the schools I contacted told me that the DAT was only one aspect of the application process. I also applied to 33 schools so it helps to realize when you scores are below average.

Hahahahaha.... Nice.... That made my day...

I know several kids who had the perfect applications (3.9 gpa, 23+ DATs, & lots of job shadows)..... and when it came to interview time....

*drumroll*

They got rejected!!!

from the top d-schools that they wanted to go too.

why? They lacked people skills.... cracked under pressure.... no social life what so ever...

Probably had the worst poker faces too..... :hardy:

It just means to show that even though you might have an AWESOME... EXTRAVAGANT... MAGNIFICENT... ahem...application....

it doesn't mean jack when it comes to interviews. They know that you can handle their work load & such, but are you the type of the person that they want "lurking" around their facilities?

So don't get discouraged if you're GPA or DAT(s) are not that "great" compared to others... but I'm sure you have hell of better social skills than most.

Shoot... I don't have a great GPA & not "110%" confident that I'll do great on the DATs next week, but I'm pretty confident that I'll PWN (yes... i'm a nerd, but with great social skills... so I can use this) the interviews once I get them.

Argo...I mean therefore... Good Luck all...

Everything will work out in the end. If not.... then it's not the end... 😉

Fo sho.
There are nerds like me and you...cool people.
Then nerds with no lives that enjoy studying and what not...the other kind of nerds...the ones that don't get in like you said.

I feel ya.

**** this.
why is the drama always about not discouraging those with poor grades?
why aren't we afraid of discouraging those with good grades but no people skills. because according to you 'kool kats' these are the people that won't get in anyways.
i'm so discouraged right now. someone give me the moral support that you give all those those 'sub-3.0'ers.' It's funny how the tables have turned by *******s overcompensating. Every 2nd post is a post telling ppl with poor grades not to worry. But what about those with poor people skills?!?!?

I don't think it's about social or people skills but about humility, gratitude, and a service oriented attitude, which to a certain degree, was what the OP was talking about.

At the end of the day however, a crap GPA combined with a crap DAT gets you... drumrole please... NOTHING! So with that said, my suggestion would be for us all to hit the books again!

I have 6 letters for you to improve your social skills... NLP & PUA.

If your still lost PM me or something.

C'mon lighten up ppl, it was a funny post. One question though, is there really such a thing as DAT Stomper, call me dumb but I thought it was a joke?😳
