Applying to DO school but received a LOW mcat score. 499. My GPA is a AO 3.98, TOTAL 3.72 BCPM 3.5.(Attended a National Top 5 Public University) Should I retake the MCAT in JANUARY and wait to apply to DO School, or apply now and tell them I am planning on retaking.

With your GPA being that high and pretty good experience in the medical field such as shadowing and volunteering at hospitals and/or clinics, you should be fine applying to 70% of the DO schools. Many DO schools actually emphasize your overall application instead of just scores.

Do not be discouraged not applying at all. Your MCAT is about average and to me, that is good enough if you do not mind what school you want to be in.

My GPA: 3.6
MCAT: 495

I received 3 interview invites so far and I still have schools waiting to review my applications/ secondaries (applied to 20 and got 17/20 responded with a secondary invite)
