It doesnt say much, but here's something from the 8/3 issue of our campus paper:
Kathy Ryan, an admissions officer at UCSF Medical School, said that by the end of July last year, her office had 1,900 applications. UCSF has not received any applications as of yesterday.
"It's difficult to tell the scope of this thing, but we do know we're about a month behind," Ryan said.
Many schools were worried they would have to resort to alternative plans if the service was not fixed.
"The UCs are trying to stick together and come up with some sort of alternative plan to get this thing moving," Ryan said, adding that the form of the alternative plan was still up in the air.
She said she suspects students are frustrated and "very anxious, which they usually are anyway."
Cranston said students will have to be patient.
"They're being delayed, and it's all our fault, and we're very sorry," Cranston said.
