Hey, everyone. For the heredity chapter.
Do I need to worry about problems where we need to set up a Punnet square or do they only just ask questions about the terms in that chapter?
I would prefer to set up a table haha

I have not taken the DAT yet, but it comes up in Destroyer frequently and I just took a Bootcamp Bio test and there was one in it. Nothing difficult at all though especially if you've had genetics.

I do think it is best to know how to determine genotypes/phenotypes of different crosses or given different information about the parents/children. You technically don't have to use a Punnet square to figure that stuff out, but it helps a lot.

Yes indeed. A punnett square will always help. However I would not do it for the dihybrid cross cross since it will burn off too much time. Understanding the 9:3:3:1 ratio should suffice. For sex linked disorders, autosomal disorders, and blood typings, etc it will come in handy. For the rest, I would use the punnett square !!!

Hope this helps.

Thanks. No, I haven't taken Genetics, I wish I did though, it's the only interesting thing about Bio for me.

A Punnett square is just basically a table though..I do think you need to know them, not just the terms.

Thank you. haha I know it's a table, I just prefer to do a table and problem than dealing with the terms

Thank you. I understand what you mean, it kinda comes naturally after solving some examples without the need for the box.
