Well i wrote this out for Kokobean and he said it helped it out... So i thought i would post some advice on doing PAT.
Ok, If they are asking for the top view... Focus on the front view, the end view is not very helpful. Imagine pulling the object towards you so it falls. For example... You have a triangle on a table, and u are looking at it at a front view. Now put your finger on the tip and pull it towards you so it falls and now you are looking at the top view. Its kind of hard to imagine if you dont have much spatial ability.
Ok, now if they ask for the front view... Do the exact opposite as above, push the object back in its horizontal position. Focus on no more then 2 characteristics from the top view. And try put all your energy into thinking about how these 2 objects will change once "pushed" back up. Again, you gotta have an imagination with it
Now for the end view, my favorite definately dont focus to much on the top view, it wont help, focus on the front view. Now picture the same pyramid on the table, simple push it 90 degrees to the left. Once its turned, u should be able to imagine the shape. This is when the topview helps the most, the basic shape. Now for the little dotted lines. Count how many edges and angles are on the left side of the object from the front view. Now these will vanish once turned. However many u counted will be the number of dotted lines...
Hope this helps anyone out there, its kind of hard to explain spatial thinking, but hope this helps!
