Hi Everyone,
Not sure if anyone's been through this before, but i currently graduated undergrad with a completely different degree (in business) and was wondering whats the best possible situation for me to apply to optometry school. A lot of my friends have suggested that I apply to a postbach program, but i figured i'd put this out there first before doing so.
I've looked at a few other threads which talked about taking pre req classes like chem, orgo, bio and all that other really really fun stuff...but yeah. i would really appreciate it if someone could give me some advice on how about handling this. it really sucks cuz im still currently trying to study for my cpa first....yeah dont ask why im all of a sudden deciding to do a postbac program =/
In any case, most postbac programs are 2 years correct? and what makes it different from finishing a postbac program versus going back to my alma mater and just fulfilling my pre req classes there? Actually, does it matter where i take my pre req classes...given that I dont take them at a community college? So in other words, does it increase my chances of getting into an optemetry school depending on where i fulfill my pre req's? Is there one optometry school better than another one? And how does one base their decision on which optometry school to apply to?
Where DID you guys go? i checked a few links for optometry school which says there's 16 schools of optometry. holy smokes. Its worth a shot!
