does your major matter? I am a psychology major... do you think schools like michigan, columbia, or penn might not value my 3.6 gpa because it is in psychology over a tougher major like economics, or math, or engineering, etc?

Im nervous about this. Also, when is a good time to start collecting letters of recommendations?

Major does not matter. Just high GPA and GPA of the prereqs along with the DAT will do the job. Ask for recommendations say a the winter/spring before you apply.

i was too.. it might depend on the university or college u attended... it was brought up at 2 of my interviews and the interviewer said it was ok because i went to a good university.. not to knock on community colleges or anything, but if you plan on attending a CC for 4 years then i probably would go for a tougher major just to show them that you can handle it.
