I know that it all depends on the school/adcom/situation, BUT in general what is the timeframe to hear an acceptance or rejection post-interview?

E.g. you interview on October 1st, you should hear by when? Or November 1st then you should hear by ...?

Just trying to get a pulse on it, whether it is typically a month or 3 months or whatever.

THANKS YO!

There is none generalized for all schools.

Interviewed on Sept 16th at UVA. Heard Oct 19th about my acceptance. (They have a relatively quick turnaround after Oct 15th, since they decide the Friday following interviews)
Interviewed at U of South Carolina on Oct 29. Heard Oct 30th about my acceptance. (They have a really fast turn-around, since they decide immediately after interviews on your score).
Interviewed Oct 12th at Colorado. Heard March 26th about my rejection.
Interviewed Oct 15th (2007) at AECOM. Heard Jan 15th about my rejection.
Interviewed Oct 13th (2007) at NYU. Heard March 15th about my waitlist.

That's a loooong wait. I couldn't imagine staying sane that long! You must have the patience of... someone who has lots of patience. (I was going to say "doctor," and make a pun about patients/patience, but I got nothing. 🙂)

I know UIC has their adcom meeting every third Thursday of each month to decide acceptances/rejections. Georgetown told people attending interviews during the first week of September they should hear back around the first week of November. Unfortunately, every school seems to have its own method.

I believe most schools tend to send out the acceptences much sooner than the rejections.

When I was interviewing, many of the schools I went to had a time line something like this:

Fall (Sept-Nov): 4-6 weeks
Winter (Dec-Feb): 6-10 weeks
Later: 10-14 weeks

Obviously those change a bit from place to place, and it's only a sample of about 3 schools, but its all I know.
When you go to the interview day, they'll generally tell you when your group should be hearing back.

Dude, you must have killed that interview. 1 day turn around is amazing.
