  1. Pre-Health (Field Undecided)
Newbie here. I'm actually not ready to start applying yet 😉 Fall 2011 is my goal. I got into podiatry, because my Mom's a diabetic and she had the best doc who got me thinking about the field and it's definitely what I want to do.

My question is kinda ***backwards I suppose, because by the time I finish my pre-reqs, my cum gpa will be 3.01 (yes 0 - 1) and my sgpa 3.6, so my question is, will admissions committees look past my overall gpa and see my science one? Or should I start looking into MS programs now? (There are several 3+2 programs I may be able to transfer to).

Any help is mucho appreciated...

Forget about the Masters programs, put that time and energy into studying for the MCAT. If you score above avg on the MCAT you should have no problem getting into a pod school with your GPA.

Yeah, get ready for the MCAT. I was in a similar situation, messed around first few years (see 5) and finished with 3.00 GPA, but then came back and did all the science pre-reqs and got a 3.6sGPA. Did well on the MCAT and they never asked a single question about my grades.

I agree with the others, show an upward trend your last year and do well on the MCAT.

Worked for me. 👍

Okay that's awesome - thank you all for the advice. 🙂 Probably saved me two years 🙂
