Are the grades you received in any AP work that you received credit for at your university included in your GPA for college? That is probably a stupid question, but from what I read on another thread it seemed that AP class grades are part of your cGPA and sGPA. Any insight?

They are not part of your GPA. They count purely as credits towards your graduation total and/or for fulfilling requirements. That being said, it is highly recommended that you forgo any AP credits for med school prerequisites (i.e., chem, bio, math, physics) and take them at a college level.

That's what I assumed! Thanks!
Yeah, I got credit for physics, but I am taking them at my college.

I received over 30 credits from AP classes:

Biology
Chemistry
Calculus AB
English Language
English Literature
US History

Once in college, I retook Biology and Chemistry, and took Calculus III & Stats to cover my bases. I don't think APing out of English hurt me. If you count this cycle and last year's, so far 5/10 schools I've applied to have sent me II's, and only 1/10 (Dartmouth) sent me a pre-interview rejection. My assumption is that they will not send you an II if you're out of school and don't meet their pre-reqs.

My verdict: retake all the science pre-reqs in college, and retake or supplement math pre-reqs. It's up to you if you want to use your English credit. It's probably best to call up schools on their specific policies.

Also, no they don't factor into college GPA
