High stats, averageish ECs; lost as to school list

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
38N and High GPA......you're going to be alright. I think your EC's are enough with those scores.

Delve more into the schools' mission/focus. You mentioned global health and fluency in Spanish and French -- look for schools that emphasize that. Your stats won't be stopping you anywhere; just make sure your interests fit well with the schools'.

I agree with the other posters. Your stats are adequate for just about anywhere in the country. If its a heavy research school (Like Duke) then you'll probably have to nail the secondaries and interview but still, you should feel good about your chances wherever you apply.

Thanks guys! The secondaries will be big for me, no doubt. I don't want to spend a ton of money applying to "top tier" schools that I probably won't get in, but I don't want the schools I am applying to to think that they're just "safeties" for me.

You have a better chance at top tiers than you seem to think. If I were you I would apply, you never know what will happen!

This.

Your numbers alone will get you interviews at nearly everywhere in the country. Some research/mission heavy schools might give you the pass, but your near-perfect GPA & MCAT scores will carry you hard throughout this application cycle.

Thanks guys, I'll look into it. I need to find the top-tier schools that don't necessarily expect years of research experience from their applicants. I know Harvard, for instance, requires a letter from your research advisor. That kind of tips their hand as far as what they're really looking for.
