Highlighting science passages

does anyone have opinions or advice about whether it would be a good idea to highlight key terms in science passages (so that you can quickly find them if you have to refer back).

I like highlighting, especially when new words/terms are used. Just make sure when you highlight you do not focus too much on the smaller details because the passages tend to be big-picture.

Highlighting really helps. I always highlighted any numbers, equations, new words/concepts and if I faced a question that I didn't know where it came from I would quickly go back to the passage and see if they introduced it (you know how sometimes they introduce a new equation/concept/relationship and ask you on that) - I was scoring relatively high on the sciences if this helps lol

Highlighting can be tricky because it's tough to say what will end up being tested as you are reading the passage. Highlight too much and you may as well not highlight. If you go for it, do it for key words and concepts as others stated.

Ultimately, highlighting is best used in conjunction with strong passage maps. Make these in your head as you read because many of the questions do not require you to strictly recall facts from the passage - they are more about analysis.
