Wow, another Venezuelan. I'm Venezuelan too. Came here when I was 10, so I lost my venezuelan accent a long, long time ago.

When did you move here? As a kid, NO ONE was venezuelan. But thanks to Chavez, they're finally starting to immigrate. Good for me, I can now get some good arepas without having to make one myself. 😀

Although this is a hispanic thread, there might be some non-hispanics reading it and I'm going to take this opportunity to say something that has always bugged me about the american government and their need to categorize people.

Call me hispanic, latino, south american, or venezuelan, but NEVER ever ever ever call me spanish!

Spanish people are from......... you guessed it........ SPAIN.

American's speak english, but i don't go around asking everyone if they're British.

although you are technically right

i think most of their ignorance is not meant to be insulting, is just a misunderstanding

i got a friend who for some reason thinks every hispanic is puerto rican

he thinks this way even after i took him to dominican republic for 2 weeks...

he still like "hey felix i loved puerto rico" , im like it was dominican republic then hes like oh yeah my bad....plain stupidity if you ask me

I just read ur reply and saw that you are in Boston. I'm moving there with my sister in 3 weeks, right after I take the DAT.

I've been here (USA) forever. Although I'm hesitant to call it my home, as my family is all in Caracas. I got the best of both worlds though, no accent in English or Spanish. It's a cool trick. Gracias a mis padres!

SkiBabe, congrats on moving up north. I also lived in florida at one point, and the northeast (in my opinion) is ten times better. I think you'll like it a lot. Why are you moving up here? Maybe we can meet up and I can give you guys a little mini tour of the city! I say mini because i have no car, a lot of people in the city just walk or take the train.

BTW, I also have no accent in either language. It's hard to tell where I'm from. PM me!
