BRS (2nd ed.) says HLA class I antigens are the principal Ags in tissue graft rejection

First Aid (2005) says HLA class II antigens are the principal Ags in tissue graft rejection

Which one is it?

Instead of thinking about which MHC Class Ag it is involved with, think about which immune cells are responsible for the damage. I agree with Robbins. Helper T's and Cytotoxic T's.

yes, definitely helper T's and cytotoxic T's are important to remember for acute and chronic rejections, thus MHC II's are gonna play a definite role in those reactions (also, humoral immunity does its damage as well)...as for the MHC I role, keep in mind that hyperacute rejection takes place when preformed anti HLA antibodies bind to endothelial cell MHC I's and induce complement/neutrophil mediated damage :horns:
