Prep classes for step? Schedule?

Hi, I go to a A/B/C graded school, about to start MS2. We take step next summer but I will start studying once the semester begins. We have a ~5 wk dedicated.

Did anyone take prep classes like Kaplan to learn test taking strategies?

How many hrs every day, excluding studying for class, did you study for step?

I didn't and I don't think they are necessary
