Hi guys,

I posted this on the pre-allo forum but didn't really get a straight answer. However, I am a reapp with not so stellar stats so I figure I could post here and get some valuable feedback
I graduated undergrad with a 3.35 gpa from Northwestern (hoping that helps a little bit cuz I need all the help I can get!) Anyway, after researching for a year, I decided to spend the summer taking two science courses to raise my GPA a bit. However, I got a "B" in one class (I missed the A by .4 of a percentage point and he does not give grades in between!) and so my post-bacc GPA stands at a 3.5. Is it worth submitting these grades to schools, even with that ugly B, seeing as it will raise my GPA? I assume most of my files will be complete by the time the transcripts are ready and these are not prereq classes or anything else schools will require a transcript for. I would just be sending it in to see if it can maybe help a little bit. Thanks!

Every class you ever took that was college has to be reported...maybe I'm not understanding the question?

It doesn't matter that it was after your "official" college...if it was college coursework - AMCAS requires you report it. Simple as that.

You have to report every class you took.

okay, but my amcas has already been verified and I used the "transcript exception" for these classes because I had not started them yet. Do I have to get AMCAS re-verified or something?

i would get into contact with amcs as fast as possible...failing to submit all your transcripts = your screwed,

what can happen:

1. youll automatically be denied acceptance

2. assuming you slip by admissions, they will kick you out of school

3. assuming you slip by med school, they will take away your liscense and your done

CALL THEM NOW!

You got plenty of good advice on the other thread...submit the transcripts ASAP...it is required...quit trying to game the process, it will only hurt you.

On a related note, I am also a re-app and have already submitted my amcas and aacomas applications. I was thinking about taking course not to supplement my GPA, but just to take because i am interested in them. DO you think amcas or aacomas would need me to report those classes as well. This is only hypothetical and has not yet happened. Thanks

I also am taking more courses this fall, which I reported but am not sending transcripts (because Im just starting there)

I was under the impression that this is okay, since its not really like I have anything to send anyways. I dont have to do anything else till spring right? (then I send in grades?)

I requested exemption and am waiting for approval.

Sorry to get off topic but I dont want to mess my app up any more than necessary....

sorry guys i just looked at amcas and its cool, guess Im just getting paranoid about this whole thing =)

also to the op, I heard about someone getting their academic record wiped somewhere on this forum. you have to give the school an overwhelming reason why to wipe ur record tho and I doubt youd wanna go though that (plus schools can see it from what ive heard). Just seems easier to get the transcripts in.

Every college class ever taken has to be reported, including CC classes taken in high school. No exceptions for any US colleges (there is a limited exception for very unique overseas college course work (read AMCAS), but virtually all "study abroad" classes must also be reported...).
