To me good scotch just smells like leather and moss, like something you'd use to tan hides rather than drink. I'll take rum, beer, or a glass of wine any day over the finest scotch.
Oops, you got that wrong. You face the pacman to eat the better option.Beer > wine.

haha, who is this guy?$84,827.50 for a “magnificent museum piece of whisky history."
Are you actually supposed to drink that, or is it pretty standard to just cuddle with it in the dark corners of the mansion while mumbling “my precious”?

I like people like you. They trade me good scotch for quality wine/beer.
We also don't drink your scotch when we're over to hang out. I've got a friend that's always trying to offer me nice scotch when I'm over, and I'm just like, dude, we've been over this, I'm not down with your Scottish floor cleaner. I then proceed to drink his $10 citrus vodka. Everybody wins.I like people like you. They trade me good scotch for quality wine/beer.

Scottish floor cleaner?! AHAHAHAHAHAHA. Love it

Omfg. You don't know how true this is, although I only stock Sobieski and Belvedere. Every goddamn time. WTF is it with winos and cheap flavored vodkas?

I don't understand how leather and moss does not sound appealing to people. Peatier the better.
Also white wines are for sorority girls and people with no taste.
I'm convinced that scotch is just liquor that the Scotts made to troll the world. "Let's throw our old boots and dirt in some rum and then tell the English it's our finest spirit! We'll make a fortune while they extoll upon the virtues of the taste of our moss and footware!"I don't understand how leather and moss does not sound appealing to people. Peatier the better.

What is a good wine depends on what you are eating with it. For anything with dairy or white meat, I prefer white, if I'm just chilling or am eating basically anything else, red. Usually I just drink beer though, as wine tends to give me wicked hangovers.

FWIW, I love scotch and whiskey in general. Wine? You could pour me a glass of 1961 Chateau Latour and Wild Irish Rose, and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
I'm not gonna lie, I can't tell the difference either. I can only spot a truly bad wine. I'm even okay with 98% of beers that are out there, even the cheap ones. Basically the only things I won't drink are cheap liquor (aside from Bernett's vodka) and scotch. And between the two, I'd probably drink a glass of Dubra before I'd drink a glass of Glenlivet 21.FWIW, I love scotch and whiskey in general. Wine? It's okay you're still young and have time to develop some taste buds. I'm sure your grape juice is delicious right now.
I love me some Islay.
The best.

Talisker 10, smokey peat with a side of whiskey. It's a great staple for me.

I mostly meant Bourbon.
I've had plenty of good booze from all over.
I have a new hobby. Firing inept people.

Opposed to squats and dead lifts????? I understand maybe not going for ridiculous lifts where you have every hand strap and belt on for support but those are two of the best strength training exercises you can do hands down. Even squatting 225 with good form every now and then is good. And don't start me on dead lifts..those are the essence of life!

God forbid medical students talk about the medical validity of their hobbies and how they train for those hobbies in a hobby thread!
I like the idea of training for whisky!

Replaced the entire rear suspension and wheel bearings in my car last weekend. Did the entire front suspension and wheel bearings a few weeks before.

Keep it up 👍! Turning wrenches is a dying art, it seems.

Torque..hmmm. I know how to torque implant abutments...
Maybe I can fix cars too?
😀
Thanks.

Hand skills in general are.
I'd probably cry in happiness if I could go ortho, yet due to the fact that 60 % of my class publicly claims to want to go into ortho, you'd never hear me say that.
Same concept! Wait.... what's an abutment? 🙂Torque..hmmm. I know how to torque implant abutments...

Oh yeah, you got this. Just take your micro tools up to macro size and change that unit to ft-lb and you'll be in business.
Yuck.
No less yuck than that nasty crap being posted in the other thread
Those are adverse outcomes on tools used by neophytes that don't know how to use it properly. It's like a dental hygienist doing the intricate work a dentist does and f'ing it up.No less yuck than that nasty crap being posted in the other thread

Well needing an implant is an adverse outcome of not taking care of your teef!
But yeah. I know. Those pix were so creepy
Right, it's used to treat a condition. Now imagine a dental hygienist doing implant abutments. 😱 and the horrid pictures from that. That's like a spa aesthetician or a PA doing a laser procedure by themselves and those pictures were the result.Well needing an implant is an adverse outcome of not taking care of your teef!

Well for us, that would be illegal. And out of their scope. Is it legal for estheticians to do that stuff?
Not if dental hygienists lobby your state govts. to increase their scope of practice saying they're going to help alleviate the dentist shortage. You don't define your scope of practice, the state does.Well for us, that would be illegal. And out of their scope. Is it legal for estheticians to do that stuff?
Depends on the state. Dermatologists have lobbied on the state level to control the types of lasers they can operate if at all since these are medical devices that can cause real damage. So for example, requiring having a physician on site when these lasers are used.

In NY state, hygienists and assistants can't do that.
