I heard today that I am number 5 on the waitlist for my top choice. The only reason i'm on the waitlist is due to space. The admissions committee loved my interview/application..etc. Therefore, they have guaranteed me admission for 2010. There is a pretty good chance i'll be taken off the waiting list and admitted, but no promises. I don't even have to fill out an application again though for 2010. However, I have an interview this thursday and i'd have to miss a lot of class/work to go on it and the outcome is most likely that i'll be put on the waitlist. The school i'm interviewing at is ICO. Is waiting a year really that big of deal? Should I call off my interview? Should I still go to the interview just in case? What does everyone think? Holy cow.

If i were you i would honestly just go.
Think about it, your guaranteed no matter what right?
So if you attend the interview, it might show more dedication that you actually want to go and you might very well have a good chance of getting off the waitlist and accepted.
Unless you were looking for a year off...but if you werent intending on it...then why waste a year that could be better spent in optometry school.
