Indryd when did you interview? Has anyone heard anything from JHU other than the 2 (lucky lucky!) acceptees? I would think that they would get out the waitlists/rejections for the first interview week before moving on to the next.

I could be very wrong, though.

While I expect nothing good from JHU, i'm encouraged if no one has heard any bad news, either...

Ok, and really, wtf is wrong with me? What part of "late October/early November" is making me so anxious that my health is actually suffering? I mean, I just freaking know that if I don't get a call by 5 pm today (because I believe so strongly in the Mondays theory) I will freaking keel over with a heart attack...(i hab a pain in my ches'...an' i can' breeff!)

I submitted my AMCAS two months ago and never heard a word from them..

MB in SD, they don't screen, but they take forever to send you a snail-mail brochure directing you to their online secondary. You can fill it out at any time: https://app.applyyourself.com/?id=jhu-som

Don't worry about not receiving an invite yet; I filled it out before I got one and got an interview. Good luck!

No they don't screen but you should get an email saying that your file is complete... at least I did.

Wowzer- was it the "high waitlist" or the "low waitlist" that they mentioned at the interviews? I recall them saying there was one waitlist from which people actually get in and another from which they've never accepted anyone before (so it's like a nice rejection)....

im not worrying about it. i got interviews at cornell, case, and nyu today, in addition to a couple more later, and i am damn sure that i will rock them and get in somewhere.

I don't want to completely debunk your theory guys, but I have been doing some detective work lately. According to a friend of mine who was accepted last year, she received her acceptance call in the late afternoon on a Friday. Another friend of mine who was accepted this year received his call in the early afternoon also on a Friday. Does this present enough counterevidence? Ok, back to twiddling my thumbs in anxiety...

I gave Hopkins a call toward the end of the day on Wednesday (since they only accept calls on M-W). The woman on the phone told me that the committee met on Tuesday (11/8) and it would be at least a week before I heard from them. I know they do phone calls for accepted applicants, so I'm wondering if "a least a week" is a euphemism for "you're on the waitlist, so please wait a week for your letter to arrive."

For those curious, I interviewed on September 23rd.

Yeah, when I was there interviewing some of the students I met in the dorm (first years) mentioned that they had done very late interviews (March, I think one of them said!)...

I interviewed on October 21st, and i was very confused, because my faculty interviewer just kept saying, "i really hope you'll consider hopkins." But I think my student interview didn't go well because I was somewhat confused after the faculty one. do they call people in batches, or do they call accepted applicants on one day? and anyone have any idea what day that is for the october/november applicants?

Hi eachpeach. i interviewed a few weeks after you and was told we'd hear mid-dec too. i didn't hear anything this past monday or today (friday) so i'm hoping i'll hear some good news this coming monday and that the silence doesn't mean i was waitlisted. good luck to you. i think they call in batches.
