I'm applying to JHSPH and I have a question about the biology coursework requirement. I have taken 2 health-related classes at my undergrad college and a biology course at a junior college. Can I use the 2 health-related classes for the biology requirement and not the biology course? I don't want to use the biology course because I got a C in it, and did better in the other classes.

Also, the JHSPH website says the courses must be "college-level". Does this refer strictly to undergraduate courses or can graduate courses be used?

Thanks in advance for the information.

Just bumping to see if anyone has had this issue. Surely there are many people here applying to Hopkins?

I'm not sure what you are asking. Since you will be submitting all of your transcripts, including the one from the junior college that includes your bio course (you will, won't you?), they will see your course background and grades and can make that decision. When I applied to Hopkins last year, I didn't have to specify on my application what courses would qualify as prerequisites. Can you clarify? What were the health-related classes?

They explicitly ask applicants to list 2 math and 2 science courses on their application. Of course I will be sending all, including my junior college, transcripts in so they will see all the courses I have taken. So I suppose it doesn't matter which ones I choose, but if that is the case then why do they even ask us to specify? I've emailed them with the question but no reply yet.

One health class was Human Nutrition, which I think counts, and Animal Nutrition, which I think does not since it is not in a human biology field.
