I've taken 4 practice exams so far (3 from Princeton Review and 1 ETS) and my AW scores have been REAL BAD. The very first test from Princeton, I received a 1.25, and the two following tests I scored a 2.0. I'm not sure if these are accurate or not but I feel like they should be higher. I've been comparing my essays to ETS' examples of 2.0 essays and they are not as bad (maybe it's just me). I'm really worried because I'm taking the exam tomorrow and I can't seem to score over a 2.0.

Princeton always underestimates your scores, ecspecially in the AW section, they do this so when you take the real test and get higher scores you'll feel like their prep helped you. I took 3 Princeton practice tests and got 2's and 3's on the AW, but got a 4 when I took the real test.

I took about 10 of the computer graded ETS practice essays and got 5s on every single one. On test day, I received a 4.5. It's fairly accurate.

A 1.25 isn't even a possible score as far as I'm aware, and you have to basically write one or two sentences that is only tangentially relevant to the prompt to score a 1 so I doubt you will do that on test day. I'm not saying you won't pull a 3 or something as I haven't actually seen your writing, but you'd have to just be a ridiculous person or speak very little English to get a 1.

The reason why I got a 1.25 was because I accidentally skipped the issue essay (my laptop was acting up). I got a 2.5 on the argument and when they averaged out the two scores (0+2.5)/2, I got a 1.25. In terms of the quality of my essays, they're not as bad as my score indicates. I had a couple of people score them using ETS's examples and grading criteria and they gave me 3s and 4s. I just hope that what everyone says about Princeton Review is true and they underestimate your score to make it seem like their prep helped.

I used Princeton Review and took all the tests offered... I believe the vast majority (if not all) I received a score of 5.5. I got that on test day too.
