Hey guys, was just wondering what your thoughts are on either doing a chief year or working as a Hospitalist for a year before applying for cards fellowship. Is any one better than the other in terms of getting a fellowship?

Depends on which program you're at. At some places there's an 'unwritten rule' that the chief will get their fellowship of choice.

That's true. I'm at a University program. I guess it's just an issue of how much money you make that extra year.
