I'm already getting quite a collection of them. What're you guys going to do with the old ones? Toxic plastic bonfire? Collage of your physical decline throughout the clinical years? Lifetime supply of pot scrapers?

One of the old IDs I have comes in handly every once in a while. I did a rotation at an HMO where I am a member. My ID still lets me into staff parking, very convenient for when I have a doctor's appointment. It also gives me an employee discount for OTC products at their pharmacy (which are so overpriced that it's actually not a discount at all).

So far, I've had to turn all mine back in.... 🙁

We just get one all-purpose ID for everything. If you lose it then you get berated and charged some obscene amount of money for another one.

Of the hospitals I have rotated through, some have given me an ID badge, and some just required me to use my LECOM ID. Of the ones who gave me ID badges, I had to give them all back.

So no plastic bonfire for me.

I got my fifth one today. I look like the inedible hulk in the photo too -- not huge but very green. 🙂

Same here, except the school's hosp. ID. Of course, I've only done rotations in one other hosp, but I had to get a new ID made for them 3 times, one for each rotation. 🙄

You beat me to it!

All my old IDs from my various jobs etc are collected in my desk drawer. I'm sure I'll find a use for them some time...

I'm collecting them too. Also have been keeping the name tag/ID badge thingies from conferences. 🙂

I keep my Cook County Badge in my office now, so when I think life sucks, I just look at the CC badge and realize how much better life is now

I've got most of mine - although I think there are a few which I was required to turn in.

Since I spent a number of years working in hospitals before medical school, I have quite a collection - looking back at them, I wonder why I ever thought that 80s hair was attractive (but I was so youthful looking and well rested otherwise)?!

Keep those school ID's...you could still use them at movie theatres that have student discount rates 🙂
