Hey guys. Anyone have any reasonable hotel suggestions for the following schools: BU, Tufts, and Howard? They all seem pretty expensive compared to previous posts. For some of you guys who bid on Priceline, what area did you guys choose, and what type of bid did you place? Thanks!!!

Make sure you book your hotel early! I found out about my interview at Harvard relatively late...I only had a week and a half to find a hotel, flight, fill out their secondary, all that jazz. When I starting looking into hotels, EVERYTHING was booked. I found out later that it was also "family weekend" at BU or something, so I'm sure that was the main reason for it being so busy.

I ended up having to stay in Concord (about an hour train ride into the Cambridge are)...needless to say, the train broke down and I was late 😱

But all's well that ends well, I suppose.

Moral of the story: book your hotel early! 👍

The Double Tree hotel is less than a 5 min walk from Tufts.

For Howard's interview, I stayed at Hilton Alexandria Mark Center. The Shuttle and Metro is how I got around DC area, and they were reliable sources of transportation.🙂

I'd recommend the Milner hotel for your Tufts interview. It's between all the nice hotels but is quite a bit cheaper and much simpler (it's clean and safe though...I felt fine staying there.) You can even share parking lots with the local big hotels if you're not taking the T 🙂 Hell, stay there for BU, too!

Also, Boston has several youth hostels, some of which have private rooms.

If you stay at the double tree or in that area around tufts and the theater district you can just walk up to Boston Common park and catch the Silverline bus...its about a 7 min. bus ride and then a 4 block walk to BU. Just buy a day pass for the T and you can take the same bus back when ur done. Save you money on a ripoff cab ride. If you stayed at the double tree it would be like a 3-4 block walk to the park to catch the bus....wait nevermind...that bus actually stops right in front of the Tufts Hospital/medcenter as well...so if u stay at the double tree it will take you like a minute or two to catch the bus, then about 7 minutes on the bus..get off at the Newton street stop and walk 4 blocks perp. to the direction the bus was traveling (cross the street the bus was traveling on)..you'll see a little park area with a fountain in the middle of it to your left....also you can just pay with cash if you want on the bus...i think its a dollar or two...not really sure...as far as cheap hotels go, I have no idea...cheap doesn't really exist in Boston. Good luck. BU is awesome.:luck: Oh and the Sox dominate the Rockies ...13-1 lmao........im gonna give this sleeping thing a try now..
