Hours and letter question

Hello all, I did my physical therapy volunteer hours and I requested my letter of recommendation from PT that has the same last name as me. Would they see that both of us are relatives or somethig which would put me at a disadvantage??

They might contact the PT to verify you aren't related. I wouldn't think they'd just assume you were. Unless your last name is ravanskawasy or something ridiculously uncommon lol
