Hey guys.

Few questions for you. Can anyone help?

1. I just got my acceptance. How soon will I receive my financial aid?
2. Housing at Jefferson. How do I go about finding out more information, and have they already sent stuff out? I would love to live on campus, but don't want to get stuck with 3 roommates.

3. Anyone know if you can have pets in the on-campus apts? I dont' want to give up my cat!

4. When is the 2nd look? Has it already happened and what was it?

Thanks so much!!

they told me fin aid decisions could be going out in early april i believe.

talk to proffit (a jeff 2nd year) in sdn chat and he'll tell you, while they're convienient for people who cant apt hunt, the jefferson dorms aren't the best deal in the world. The rent just got jacked up significantly (higher than some places you can find in the area)and they're making people pay for utilities now. I know its a hassle, but i think its well worth your while to look at places off campus. fairly nice studio and 1/2 bed apts in center city within walking distance to jeff can be reasonably priced.

try checking out http://www.philadelphiaweekly.com/classifieds/ anything between 1st-20th streets and intersecting a street with a "tree" name (spruce, pine, locust, chestnut, walnut) is walking/biking distance. old city, rittenhouse square, northern liberties, society hill are areas that are fair game.

also, they only have one thats co-ed i believe, but they have several medical "fraternity" houses funded by jeff alums. They're houses in downtown philly, that are really nice and rent goes for 150-250 a month. again, i think only one is co-ed. check it out if you can make their second look.

any questions about the area, just ask

Thanks DW!

I will have to do that. As a child of an alumni, my parents want me to live on campus for safety issues and such. I am hoping I can change their mind if I can find a place relatively close for a reasonable amount. They don't want me walking alone at night and stuff like that, which I can understand. I also have my cat to include in the equation so that makes it just that much for difficult.

I appreciate all your help, and will check out that website!

Thanks so much,

Hey Allygator,

You can't have your cat in student housing. That's why I'm off campus. Well, one of the reasons. My parents were pushing for on campus housing too but I couldn't imagine moving back into a dorm (apartment style or otherwise) since I'm a little older, but once my dad saw my apt, he was VERY impressed and forgot all about student housing. If you look off campus with your cat, make sure you ask about pet rent, because some buildings charge it and it can be pretty pricey.

As for receiving info, the barrage should begin soon. Jefferson sends A LOT of stuff to accepted applicants. It's exciting actually. I don't remember about financial aid, but they'll send you a phone list and you can call and ask. 🙂

Congrats, Jeff is a great place.

Thanks so much! If you have any recommendations about where to live, please PM me. I will probably be going up to look in the next two months or so.. 🙂
