Has anyone taken a Berkeley mcat course that did not stay in the area? If so where did you stay and how much was the cost and how would I go about getting the place ?

What location are you looking at and will you have a car?

The harsh reality of our three locations is that housing within walking distance is seriously overpriced. Westwood typically demands $3000/month for a two-bedroom apartment near campus. Irvine and Berkeley are not much cheaper. But if you have a car that problem is remedied. There is some public transportation, but it will likely involve having to transfer.

In the past people have used air B&Bs with varying success. Most have worked out well (students who do nothing but study make great tenants), but on occasion there has been an unscrupulous landlord who demanded extra payments once the student was already settled in. If you wish to PM me, I can send you an email address of the office manager at the location you are considering.

I am looking into the Berkeley location and I live in Texas and so I would prefer to not have a car, I wanted to be close by go to class study but if need be I can get my finances together to have a car while I am there, Can you tell me my options with or without a car ? do the other location have less cost of living?

For Berkeley, it is best to not have a car. Parking is difficult and expensive there. You can live north of campus (within a mile of the center) for a reasonable price. The other option would be to live near a BART station and take the train in. It is fast and runs frequently, but beware that some stations are not in the nicest areas. If you want to PM me, I'll try to coordinate with the center manager up there.

For the LA location a car wouldn't be useful since parking in LA is never free.

Last I checked the Irvine location is located in a plaza with decent parking.

For both LA and Irvine you can easily find UCLA and UCI students subleasing their apartments for the summer much less than $1000. I've seen a few deals $300 for a double. Uloop and fb groups are your friend.

Same case with any closeby university.
