How about the Air Force reserves ?? Any good?

Anybody has any input with regards to the medical corps in the reserves??

The reserves offer an excellent opportunity to begin living at a civilian attending's salary, then randomly have it cut in half to go on a deployment away from home.

I know of at least 2 people that were losing quite a bit of money being activated.

If you do go this way, make sure that your practice can handle you being gone 2 or more of every 5 years (that limit doesn't have any teeth any more).

Also make sure you keep an eye on what your salary would be if you were activated, and keep enough money in reserve to live comfortably at whatever level you have become accustomed to with only what your active duty pay would be.

and if you don't think there are problems with military medicine, check out how many folks with stars on their shoulder are turning them in over the Walter Reed SNAFU.

I hate to dig up such an old thread, but anyone have any current info? I decided against HPSP but would really like to look into the AF Reserves. However, so far all I get are blank stares and silence.

If anyone has info I would love to see it, or even a contact that knows what they are talking about.
