Hey guys, i have what I hope is a simple question. I attend a university in Texas, and during some summers and winters when I am back home in houston, i would take classes at a community college, I have taken government 1,2 english 2, and calculus 1 and 2 there, and have gotten As. When i transfer these credits, they obviously dont count towards my GPA, but when applying to schools, should they be added to my GPA?

Yes, any CC classes count towards your overall GPA.

They pile it up into one GPA, and several others such as science, BCP, and non-science GPA, but they also have GPAs for separate institutions.

all classes aare put together into 3 buckets: overall GPA, Science GPA (science + math classes) and BCP GPA which includes bio, chem and physics only.

Is Statistics considered in your BCPM GPA?

Statistics would depend under which department subject you took it under. If it's under Math or bio statistics, then it'd be under science.

I took statistics too but most people at my school take psych statistics, so it was under Non-science.

Also note with CC classes, be aware of which dental schools accept them and which don't. 🙂 Good luck!

it depends. my stats was under the Eco department and they wouldnt give me the credit for it under the science gpa (which sucks because I got an A in that class)
