Hello I have applied to dental schools this cycle with these EC's:

about 30 hours of volunteering at the ER department at a hospital

volunteered in a development and peace program since September 2014 (did speeches and mentoring)

volunteered as student notetaker for students with disabilities who cant take notes (since Fall 2014)

i was part of an Eco Club in high school

major concerns are the length of my volunteering

My stats are: ogpa: 3.764
sgpa: 3.87

do you think i would be competitive with this?

Grades look good. But from what I've seen on the forums, your ECs seem to be lacking relevance and longevity.

Admissions wants to see that you know what dentistry is (50 hrs) and that you have a commitment and genuine interest in it (100+ hrs).

Why shadow in the ER? Did you want to be a doctor initially? I'm not the most experienced so take my statements with a grain of salt. What does your DAT look like?

i have shadowed at a dental clinic actually, only it was my uncles dental clinic so that may hinder the legitimacy.. I did mention the shadowing at my uncles dental clinic in my personal statement however.

The school im applying to is in ireland and needs no DAT, though there may be more emphasis on gpa and ECs as a result

Call and ask your schools what they think? I've only researched American dental schools. I'm not sure if the info I have is interchangeable with your country's schools.

I'm not sure about how the international dental school admissions work but best way to find out is ask the school directly. From what I read, your GPA is decent and will get you into dental school. The problem is your EC. They lack continuity and amount of time spent. It's okay to have few ECs as long as you do it for a long period of time and dedicate a lot of time and effort to it. I question whether you truly enjoyed doing the ECs you picked out.

ER EC is okay because it gives you diversity and insight into the health profession. However, you need more experience related to dentistry and helping the community in dental related needs since your goal is dentistry.
