as far as I know, virginia is the best amoung the ones you named, based on research and teaching quality.

Do yourresearch befor you start applying,.
good luck

I interviewed at UVA and MCV.

UVA is a real up and coming program. I liked it a ton.

MCV is top notch, one of the best on the east coast, a solid program with good all around training.

Specific questions welcome.

thanks for the reply...does mcv have any cut off scores for step 1,2? was their previous match outcomes competitive? basically, can you get in if you rank them high?...thanks

I agree with NJ that U Va was a good program. Seemed to have a balanced training experience with friendly, enthusiastic residents (at least on my interview day).

As far as cutoff scores, I don't think you'll find many programs that actually tell you if they have them. Some do, I expect, but announcing them is another matter.

Matching at any PM&R program generally considered to be a solid training spot is competitive at this stage of the game. HOWEVER - competitive does NOT mean YOU can't match there, regardless of grades, scores, etc. Maybe your numbers make it more or less likely, but if you don't try you sure as heck aren't getting a spot. My advice is the same as for any field: pick enough programs, min 8-10, make sure to apply to all the programs you'd LOVE to go to regardless of your 'chances', include enough others to guarantee yourself a spot somewhere, and buff that ERAS application until it shines.

Good Luck!

I know of a physician who completed his residency at kings-jewish. He said the program was awful. There were way too many IMGs (who went into PM&R as a second medical career) that were poor teachers and were not knowledgable in PM&R. Annually, that match results prove that. They rarely fill their spots. I haven't heard too much about SUNY Brooklyn. No one I know seems interested in that hospital for PM&R. When it comes to NYC hospitals, most students prefer NYU Rusk, Mt. Sinai, Cornell-Columbia, Einstein and St. Vincent's.

any other programs that have many img's, not that i've anything against img's, but would just like to know, that's all...if you apply to enough programs,i mean alot;like you mentioned, do you think you can get a spot, regardless of scores?

thanks again...
