First of all I don't know what illness you may have or had(chronic versus acute), but I don't think it would impact my next point.
23 is a pretty high number. It shows a bad pattern that will give many pause when looking at your application.
Questions to possibly ponder:
-Are your health issues any better controlled now than they were before?
-How will you convince admission committees that you will not need to repeatedly withdraw from medical school coursework for health reasons?
-Do medical schools really want to risk having a student who based on previous academic history will likely be unable to complete courses multiple times?
1) My mental health condition is far better now with compliance.
2) I plan on bringing my cGPA up to a 3.5 (postbacc:>3.8) after having taken 82 hours of pre req and upper level post bacc work and working towards a >34 MCAT. I hope this will be enough time of successful coursework to show that I can handle medical school.
3) As I said I plan on proving that I can with my upper level coursework. I have been advised by goro and hushcom that although it is an uphill battle it can be overcome with showing your dedication to medicine (grades, ec's).
How recent are the withdrawals? If they're relatively early in your college career, I can't see them affecting you very much...that is, as long as you're prepared for the inevitable questions you'll receive as a result.
