How are you celebrating Pride Month in the workplace?

Pretty shameful some of the public comments here expressing a lack of general of respect for all individuals.

It’s quite shameful that some people in america think it is ok to force compelled speech on others in violation of 1st amendment rights.

It’s quite shameful that some people in america think it is fair to give college acceptances, scholarships, and employment options based not on someone’s character and intelligence, but instead to use little demographic checkboxes in the 21st century.

Dr King would be appalled at the progressive/communist wing of the modern Democratic Party.

You might be surprised to learn that Dr. King was a Socialist.

i respect defenseless children more than LGBTQRS adults who want to sexualize children. What's appalling is the way some adults try to make it seem ok.

Im all for respecting LGBTQRS privacy. Why cant they keep what they do with their penis private?

Speaking of which -

**Mississippi Official Announces Controversial New Medical School**

Reuters

**Jackson, MS** – In a move that has sparked considerable debate, a Mississippi state official announced the establishment of a new medical school designed to specifically recruit Caucasian males who do not subscribe to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) principles. The official, speaking at a press conference on Thursday, emphasized that the institution’s primary goal is to train physicians who will remain in Mississippi to practice medicine in environments they find culturally comfortable and familiar.

The official, who requested anonymity for this announcement, stated, "Our state faces a unique challenge in retaining medical professionals. We believe this initiative will help us keep skilled doctors who are aligned with the values and demographics of many of our communities." The new school, which has yet to be named, will focus on traditional medical training while explicitly excluding DEI coursework and initiatives that have become commonplace in many educational institutions across the country.

Supporters argue that this initiative addresses a pressing need for more healthcare professionals in rural areas and communities that struggle with doctor shortages. They believe that by tailoring the school’s culture and curriculum to a specific demographic, it will successfully attract and retain medical talent in areas considered undesirable to minorities and women.

what eff dude?

it is easy to be gay? easy to be transgender? these folks are very rarely mentally healthy, especially when they are still in grammar school, middle, and high school.

if you want to talk 21st century, there was a fight between the furries and non-furries in my son's school today. im not even joking. with barking, meowing, whiskers, and the threat of a gun, so there you go.......
What’s interesting is that you admit that they are very mentally unhealthy.

In fact, LGTBQ members have statistically much higher rates of depression, anxiety and suicide than their heterosexual counterparts. They also have significantly higher rates of STDs, domestic abuse and multiple sexual partners throughout their lifetime as monogamy is much less common in the LGBTQ community.

These are significant public health concerns which are a direct result of the lifestyle, not marginalization which was shown by a study in the Netherlands which is the most LGTBQ accepting country in the world.

Here in America they get an entire month where everyone must not only accept the lifestyle but must actively celebrate and support it. If you feel otherwise you will be ostracized and marginalized. Their victim card expired awhile ago. They are the ones in power with the victim card as their cudgel

the inability to allow others to live their lives that has no impact on our lives in a manner different from ours is a sign of mental illness

Nice racist comment
But it does affect others lives and I think that’s why parents are coming to the end their rope. They want to control how Americas children and young adults are educated, inculcated if you will.

I’m not white and I agree that this lgbtq stuff needs to stay private. We don’t need to flaunt it or celebrate it. If I started outwardly celebrating being straight, people would call me homophobic. It’s a lose lose situation. In the end people can do whatever they want; it’s a free country. Just don’t force your views upon me

The school my kids go to keeps pushing the LGBTQ agenda and I'm sick of it. They've achieved a little bit of power and now seem drunk on it. They need to leave other people, who want nothing to do with that cult, out of it. The pendulum WILL swing the other way, eventually.

Simple example of the insanity- asking kids (or anyone) to state their preferred pronouns. Think about it. They're insisting on making you participate in a political and cultural movement you may disagree with, but it's also asking you to reveal protected health information (ie, you have gender dysphoria, or don't).

Those who may not have been here that long wouldn't know this, but I'm not remotely a righty. I like to think of my politics as 'pragmatic'.

Is that how you teach your kids?

Don’t have any but I volunteer as a physics and math tutor every week for inner city kids. I stick with the fundamentals and keep people’s sexual fetishes and false and divisive political ideologies out of it, like teachers should

You do understand that there is a difference between love and sex right? You make it sound like people marching in the pride parade are showing videos of “how to” hardcore porn to the viewers when rather it’s about projecting a message of love and acceptance, not hate and fighting against the same bigotry seen in some posts here. By the way you’re the one who brought up the idea of penises which means you’ve clearly been thinking about it. Why so curious?

I’m all for keeping sex private but it’s literally everywhere already. Why can’t straight people keep what they do with their penises and vaginas in private? From Nickelodeon and beauty pageants sexualizing kids, to hooters to 99% of tv and Hollywood there are literally t!t$ everywhere. Oh but teaching kids about “pronouns” that’s the last straw? Please.

Why do I have to see a man and a woman holding hands or making out when I go outside? I shouldn’t have to see that since I don’t like it!! I’d take it a step further and say that I shouldn’t have to see anything ever that I find disgusting or don’t like because I really really don't like it and the world obviously revolves around me and my preferences. Absurd.

And straight people don’t need a whole month when they literally have the whole year that celebrates their “lifestyle”. Christmas takes up all of December. Then you have baseball season, football season, basketball season, march madness (yes I know it’s college basketball) and any other bs sportsb all season, literally every other month is straight pride month.

Lotta skin there. I'm sure this is all about love and tenderness, not raw hedonism.

I don't have a big uhh beef with this... I can just NOT bring my kids here, but don't pretend this isn't a big part of LGBTQ culture.

Is there a regular "hetero" parade featuring the equivalent of this?

Christmas isn't a straight holiday. LGBT celebrate Christmas too. Take their kids to see Santa, buy presents, etc. There are affirming Christian churches in every city now.

And how are sports straight-only? Ever seen women's softball? USWNT? Lia Thomas? You realize there are gay NFL players?

Lotta skin everywhere. Why do girls cheerleaders need to dress so skimpy? Is that really necessary or are we sexualizing them? Why do servers at hooters dress the way they do so that their T1t$ are on constant display? Why can’t we dress them up in regular clothes?

Every football game. Every movie. Every tv show. Skin everywhere. I don’t see anything in either set of photos that I wouldn’t see at a beach, a pool, or a football game. I see no penises or vaginas.

Let’s face it, you just don’t like it or perhaps it’s stirring some uncomfortable feelings in you. The whole premise of this thread “what are you doing for pride month” is basically “I don’t like pride month it makes me feel uncomfortable”. Guess what? Too bad! We don’t always get to be comfortable with everything that’s called being an adult. Again the people who are questioning/curious and hateful towards lgbt community are always the ones with something to hide. I believe the appropriate line is “the lady doth protest too much”

Pride is going to get bigger and bigger each year so you better start getting used to it. Don’t like Pride? Great!! Don’t go! We would love to have you and I’m sure it would be eye opening but some people don’t like changing their minds. I’d suggest opening your mind and speaking with some lgbt colleagues, maybe you will learn something but I doubt you will.

The above is the problem and you're demonstrating this in your last post. I can certainly understand LGBTQ wanting to just be accepted as members of society with equal (not extra) rights. The vast majority of the north american and european population supports this.

What the majority of the population does NOT support is your militaristic approach in your last post of "you better get used it" Compelled speech against our 1st amendment rights are next, as are LGBTQ trying to groom and sexualize young children.

And no, not wanting to see men dancing around in a g string does not make someone secretly gay, anymore than not wanting to see obese female models in swimwear. Both are unpleasant for a straight man to see.

The vast majority of men in the world prefer to look at a slender attractive female, which is obvious to anyone not blinded by ideology.

Do we have people go the Macy's parade to change gay people straight?

Acceptance of LGB should be universal. Respecting that lifestyle should be universal. But parades, lectures, pronouns, celebrations of the difference is just calling attention to themselves for no reason. I like the color blue. You need to know that and refer to me as the blue liking guy. Nothing else is as improtant.

Nobody is violating your first amendment rights that’s a laughable arguement. We are both exercising our rights right here. If you want to act like a bigot then be prepared to be called a bigot. Both forms of speech are protected.

And of course you’re straight. Definately 100% straight. Not gay at all.

I think you’re deluded or just brainwashed by your ideology.

Forcing someone to use scientifically incorrect pronouns IS compelled speech.

If you say otherwise you’re either a complete idiot or completely brainwashed.

I received a 5 in AP US government, and I'm an MD with a diploma from Harvard in my office.

It is quite likely a medical center lowered their standards to let you in mostly because you checked a diversity box or two. I came from a poor family and earned my way to train at Harvard and have achieved far more than you.

You're clearly not a high intelligence individual as you fail to grasp basic concepts of the constitution and US government. You probably don't even deserve to be a doctor. Due to this, I'm not going to bother discussing anything further with you lack the prerequisite basic intelligence and insight.

We could make you a certificate for that 5 in AP government as well 😉

I think a lot of you as a physician, but reading some of the things you write on here, I think you would also benefit from some therapy because you seem deeply unhappy.

The other poster (don’t want to misgender them😂) accused me of not knowing the constitution and also questioned if I was a doctor. If I just randomly volunteered the educational stats in my post, then I can understand your perspective.

But If I’m directly responding to someone who questioned my competency regarding both the constitution and medicine, then my post is certainly justified.

If you still don’t “accept” my post, I’m not particularly bothered by that.

Wow, people really riled up on the pizza + rainbow flag celebration!

I don't understand the fear of seeing LGBTQ and banning books. Are the detractors here worried passing by a pride parade will turn their kids gay? Then just don't go.

My kid picked a book in the library and it had a gay couple. There was nothing sexual about it and it sparked a good conversation about how people and families can be different.

It's not forced by law - yet, but there has been a concerted effort by the far left to create a culture of fear if you don't conform lest you be tarred and feathered with the bigot or racist label. You're doing it right here. People get ostracized or worse, canceled this way. They lose jobs. Their businesses suffer.

On "pride day" a week ago my kids refused to wear rainbow shirts, as did a number of their friends. A few days later some little troublemaker on the "civil rights team" called one of my daughters a homophobe (in a nasty tone) on the playground. My daughter - one of the sweetest kids you'd ever meet - handled it well but came home in tears. This is a school issue not because we have an epidemic of 11 year olds coming out as gay, but because we have agenda-driven virtue-signaling guilt-ridden illiberal a-hole SJWs in the community who are pushing this crap on their kids and making it everyone's problem. And good luck speaking out against this crap in a majority-left town. This wasn't so bad in the elementary school, where the principal is a reasonable guy who doesn't go for this. The middle school has a lot of gay staff in admin positions and the LGBTQ agenda is on full display as you walk the halls.

Let me ask you this- is there such a thing as age-appropriateness?

Getting away from all the "gay" books, should we have copies of the Joy of Sex on display in school libraries?

Frankly, I don't care if 16 year olds seek out info on the best way to get lubed up for anal, but I'd pause before putting those ideas in the head of an 8-year-old. Same thing with so-called gender identity.

I hear your point. No matter how uncomfortable you or your daughter feels about pride month or pronouns, I can pretty much guarantee that you two are receiving less flak and are more comfortable than your lgbtq counterpart.

One of the unintended consequences of all of the LGBTQ attention is that it can really
Start to piss off cisgender people. It is human nature to get annoyed by all of this, and middle school kids don’t have all that much patience to begin with. Promotion of alternative lifestyles need to be done thoughtfully and not overdone. Example: dildo hat is too much.

I disagree. Maybe they got more flak in the 80s and 90s but not now. Not even close. The power is grossly reversed. Forced celebration and recognition is everywhere in our schools, businesses, hospitals etc.

If someone disagrees they can be silent and try not to participate but you can’t avoid it and heaven forbid you speak out against it. Doing so will cost you your job and social standing.

What about that promotes inclusivity and tolerance? If the consequences weren’t so damaging it’d be comical.

so, your contention is that it is easier to be a straight male than a lesbian woman? how can you comment if you arent part of the LGBTQ community?

The Joy of Sex is on display in an elementary school library?

Should it be? I mean, if Gender Queer, This Book Is Gay, and similar books are on display- why not the hetero counterparts?

The question was whether or not there is, or, in the OPs opinion, should be such a thing as age-appropriateness.

A concept that doesn't get enough play is that simply putting an idea in someone's head, when there was otherwise no reason for it to be there, may have some negative consequences.

For example, at the doctor's office a few days ago the staff were questioning my 12 year old daughter on things like abuse, suicidal ideation, etc. You know what? F you. My kid came in for a sore throat. She doesn't need to be forced to contemplate the fact that some kids fking murder themselves or get kicked, beaten, or sexually abused at home. Likewise with all the other "forced" ideology we have to endure hearing about.

Advertisers know this works. How many ads begin with a provocative question you wouldn't have thought of until they put it in your mind?

I was watching a comedy sketch by Bill Burr last night that struck a chord. He was joking about the BS of Scientology and juxtaposing the BS he was fed as a child which still seems pretty reasonable by comparison. His point is that we're more accepting of the BS we hear as kids than what we hear when we're of age and can think for ourselves. The timing of exposure matters. It makes sense why the LGBTQ people are targeting the youth. It's a strategy.

I’m saying current societal pressures favor any identification other than cis white males.

And who are you to say I don’t identify as a lesbian woman? Society says you have no say in how I identify and you must honor my wishes. If you don’t, you’re a hateful bigot which could result in severe financial ramifications for you and your family

By your posts I assume you are at least 45 years old, maybe 50.

What happened to that kid in college is quite unfortunate but was also in the last century.
I agree that historically through the 20th century, both minorities and queer folk were marginalized. Completely wrong.

But this is the 21st century. You need to adjust to the reality of this modern century.

In 2024, A gay person and particularly a gay minority has a far far far better chance of being handed undeserved elite college acceptances, undeserved scholarships based solely on race or sex, and undeserved ultra competitive jobs compared to straight white or Asian person, particularly a straight white or Asian male.

Exceptions still exist, but on average it is far easier in 2024 in the United States to be a minority and/or queer than to be a straight white male.

So perhaps rational people might feel an entire black history month and an entire pride month is overkill in the 21st century compared to a single day, Memorial Day, that commemorates true Americans that fought and died for this country-

cool cool, thanks for clearing that up mate

Frankly, I don't care if 16 year olds seek out info on the best way to get lubed up for anal, but I'd pause before putting those ideas in the head of an 8-year-old. Same thing with so-called gender identity.
Sure, age-appropriateness is important. What does that have to do with LGBTQ specifically?

Here is the book I was talking about:

Good reviews but here are the 1 star reviews attached as well. It shows two men sitting in bed together!

The middle school has a lot of gay staff in admin positions and the LGBTQ agenda is on full display as you walk th
my son goes to Catholic school. cost is a little, but worth it
